Hi everyone! Welcome to The Magic If’s new website. The Magic If is a rock band, whose material is what you might call mainstream rock – a mix of pop, wry lyrics, an upbeat country sensibility, with a rock drive. We formed the band when we were all students, really quite a while ago… since we all have lives now, the Magic If only exists from time to time, but it has produced some real music, mainly as a result of finally getting into a proper studio this spring. Some of the stuff is songs what I wrote which we play as a band; some of it is stuff what I wrote to play at Limmud in my ‘Blues for Jews’ sessions… all songs by David Hoffman.
